What:
We are asking PLS families who are
interested, to purchase a book in Spanish from the
CLUB LEO book
orders. This book will be signed by your child and
donated in the fall to
less fortunate
schools and children in Chinandega, Nicaragua.
Why: This year
the fifth grade Spanish class collaborated with UNI Elementary
Curriculum
classes in a
project to send books and letters in Spanish to children in Chinandega,
Nicaragua.
The
opportunity to contribute to this project came from UNI and long-time
PLS instructor,
Lynne Ensworth in connection with
the Waterloo Rotary.
The project
was a great success and we would like to expand the involvement of
Spanish
students to include first through seventh grade.
When: Families can order from the March or
April/May CLUB LEO book order.
How: Watch
for the CLUB LEO book orders that will be sent home with your
child. Simply
indicate what book you are donating and send a check
or cash for that book.
