2 .Students will be able to identify personal unknown vocabulary words throughout the book.

3. Students will write an appropriate contextual definition for unknown words.

4. Students will be able to decode unknown words using syllabication methods.

5. Students will be able to recognize and indentify similarities and differences in cultures.

6.  Students will be able to demonstrate through writing and role playing the understanding of character development.
