Price Laboratory School Application
Price Laboratory
School (PLS) applications are
taken throughout the year. Potential
families can download this application,
call 273-6136 to have an application mailed to them, or stop in the
school office, Room 120, to obtain one. Upon receiving the completed
application, PLS administration and the enrollment committee will review
the application and make a decision within 14 calendar days. Additional
time may be required to review applications if a child has special
needs.
For those students who are applying to attend PLS from school
districts other than Cedar Falls through open enrollment, the
deadline to file an application is March 1st. For Kindergarten
students, the deadline is September 15th. Two open enrollment
applications are filled out at the student's resident school
district; one stays on file with them and one is mailed or brought
to Price Laboratory School (receiving district).
Options for
Attending Price Laboratory School
A Pre-Kindergarten student
who is four years old by September 15 of the academic year attending
may enroll at PLS regardless of their resident district. Spaces are
filled on a first-come, first-served basis. However,
students who reside in the PLS attendance zone and those students applying
who have siblings already attending will have first priority.
If a student
enters PLS in grades K-6, he/she may attend from the PLS attendance
zone, through Open Enrollment from another school district, or he/she
may tuition-in from any school district.
If a student enters PLS as a 7th-12th grader, he/she may attend from
any home residence within the Cedar Falls School District, through Open
Enrollment from another school district, or he/she may tuition-in from
any school district.
A student
in grades K-6 may attend PLS if he/she resides in rural Cedar Falls
(that portion of the Cedar Falls Community School District lying south
of Beaver Creek and the Cedar River) and his/her family income is derived
mainly from farming.
