Dear Parent(s),

Jambo!  WeÕve sailed from Australia to Africa and are having a wonderful trip.  We are embarking on many new adventures.  We will be exploring the many geographical regions of Africa.  Specifically we will focus on the country of Kenya.  We will also be learning about the people and animals of Africa.  If you have any African experiences or artifacts to share please let us know or send with your child.

We have many fun projects planned to explore the African arts.  We will need a small Y shaped branch, small African animal (model) i.e. Beanie Baby, plastic, etc. and a shoebox.  We also need small plastic containers (i.e. yogurt or butter) and yarn for African weaving.  Please have your child bring these in as soon as possible.

Our 100th Day of School will be on January 31.  Each child should bring in a display of 100 things.  Be creative!  An example could be:  a 100-piece puzzle or a Lego construction using 100 pieces.  We will be doing many other things to celebrate the number 100.

Please make sure that your children come prepared to play outside for recess.  The children need to bring hats, mittens, and boots to school.  Snow pants are recommended as they enjoy playing in the snow.

There are several dates to remember:.

á      1/31 Ð 100th day of school

á      2/29 Ð No school due to Professional Development

á      3/3 and 3/4 - No school due to Parent Teacher Conferences
